I introduce to you thee Costume God.........TRAVIS BANTON.
I'm lost for words seriously where on earth do I begin?!. Travis was hired by Paramount where he became the head designer in the 20s-40s until his alcoholic ways took over as did Head (Edith) - he was her mentor. He's mostly known for createing the most sexiest Cleopatra outfit ever (fuck this upcoming Jolie version) . Glamour, understated elegance, and exquisite fabrics endeared Travis Banton to the most celebrated of Hollywood's beauties and made him one of the most sought-after costume designer of his era. his clothes were marked by simple but stylish cuts (often on the bias), rich fabrics (such as satin and lame), and extravagant decoration (beads, fur, and feathers).
He dressed women such as Mae West and Marlene Dietrich.
I shouldnt even talk about my life after that paragraph. but what the hell. As promised I did do a very quick rushed shoot today which hopefully will be processed on monday.
Dear, so great post. So fab pieces of art! xo Ra
